QA Engineer - Technical Integrations

What you’ll be doing:

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our growing team. As a  QA Engineer at the Cardano Foundation you will be responsible for analysing the requirements of stakeholders, creation of  test plans & cases to identify issues  with new and existing software, debug code and improve the usability of software programs. The ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of the blockchain space and current developments, as well as an aptitude for thinking outside the box with great interpersonal skills. We are looking for a strong critical thinker and organiser that proposes and implements projects to support the development of the Cardano ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering position whereby you will be responsible for all things engineering in the QA department. The QA team will collaborate with the Core Technical Integrations Team & Integrations Tools Team to understand their data reporting and testing needs.

  • Write test plans with test cases and test procedures for our products.

  • Create quality measurements to track improvement in products.

  • Evolving our automation strategy around continuous testing best practices to support CI/CD pipelines.

  • Investigating, evaluating appropriate tools, technologies & techniques for automated testing.

  • Work closely with the other  Integrations teams to improve products and test planning.

  • Maintain standards for reliability and performance of production deployments.

  • Understanding and improving our platform architecture by finding improvements for testability.

  • Capable of taking responsibility, showing initiative, creativity and working in an international team.

  • Improve and maintain tooling and scripts for automation purposes.

  • Write and maintain  highly technical documentation in clear and concise English.

  • Familiarity with agile methodology.

What we look for in you:
  • STEM University Degree, preferably computer science.

  • Knowledge of the Cardano blockchain, the roadmap and associated companies and projects.

  • Experience with determining appropriate test cases at several levels: integration tests, functional tests, exploratory tests, regression tests

  • Proficient in Java

  • Understanding of UTxO model and hierarchical deterministic wallets, along with some knowledge of Cryptography.

  • Proficient at automating CI/CD pipelines

  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Docker and general DevOps tooling is a must.

  • 1+ years as a QA Engineer

  • Proficient English language and communication skills. 

  • Self motivated, independent and well organised. Someone who works well on your own and with a team.

Nice to have:
  • Development experience related to Cardano blockchain.

  • Nix & Haskell build experience.

  • Experience with  cardano-components  e.g. cardano–wallet & cardano-graphql.

  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms.
